- Coding Skills Assessment: Outpatient is a detailed 50-question assessment (45 multiple choice, 5 scenarios) covering a range of topics to test an employee’s level of coding knowledge
- Assessment includes scenarios that require manual grading. Final score is available within two business days after completing the assessment.
- Codes should be assigned according to national coding guidelines and not hospital-specific or payer-specific guidelines. Test-takers will require access to the code set(s) to complete this assessment.
- Randomized questions and answers discourage ‘sharing’
- Self-paced secure online learning platform makes the assessment convenient for a remote workforce. Test-takers can take the assessment from any location using their laptop or tablet
Coding Skills Assessment: Outpatient features:
- 50 questions (45 multiple choice, 5 scenarios). Only one question viewable at a time and all questions must be answered.
- There is no time limit on the assessment but the length of time to complete the assessment is recorded. Estimated completion time is up to 180 minutes.
- May stop the assessment and resume at a later time with answers saved between sessions. At the end of the assessment, test-taker may review all the questions as well as answers and make any changes prior to submission for grading. Only one attempt is allowed.
- Standard passing score is set at 70%; organizations may choose a different passing score in practice.
- To preserve the validity of the assessment, answers will not be shown.
- Assessment must be completed within 4 weeks of purchase date.
