Laura Gerovac, PT, RHIT, CCS, CSTR, CAISS
Laura Gerovac is a Trauma Registrar at Froedtert Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a frequent contributor to online learning courses with Libman Education.
Laura graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and worked for many years in outpatient orthopedics with a focus on providing work injury rehabilitation and prevention services. During her experience using and creating health information as a physical therapist, Laura observed the enormous impact health information has on the delivery and quality of health care services.
Laura returned to school and received an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology from Waukesha County Technical College.
Laura reports “Working as a Trauma Registrar allows me to combine my clinical knowledge and experience gained as a physical therapist with my detailed understanding of health information and data. I am excited about the great potential for health data to advance improvements in health care quality, patient outcomes, patient experiences, and population health.”
